What GetAFax is
GetAFax.com gives you a temporary US fax number for 24 hours so you can receive faxes by email. It is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. There is no account and nothing recurring.
What $5 buys
One fax number, reserved exclusively for you, for 24 hours from the moment of purchase, with up to 30 received pages included. Every fax received on your number during your rental is delivered to the email address you provided, as a PDF, along with an AI-generated summary and related features.
Extensions
You can extend at any time for an additional $5. Each extension adds 30 pages to your allowance and resets your clock to a full 24 hours from the moment of purchase. Unused pages carry over. Extensions do not recover faxes that arrived outside a rental window; those are already deleted.
Your number is temporary and shared infrastructure
Numbers are owned by GetAFax and recycled between customers with protective waiting periods in between. Do not publish your temporary number, print it on documents, or give it out as a permanent contact. Faxes sent to your number after your rental ends will not reach you and may, after the waiting period, reach a future customer. Our systems are designed to prevent that (sender verification, automatic deletion of out-of-window faxes, quarantine periods), but the only complete protection is making sure your sender faxes during your rental.
Deletion policy
Faxes arriving outside an active rental, beyond the page allowance and not extended in time, failing sender verification, or identified as junk are permanently deleted and cannot be retrieved by you, by the previous renter, or by GetAFax.
AI processing
Incoming faxes are processed by artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude) to produce your summary, subject line, key details, plain-English explanation, translation if requested, quality check, and text transcript, and to filter junk faxes. This is fully automated and private. By using GetAFax you consent to this. AI output can contain errors; the attached PDF is the authoritative document and you are responsible for reading it.
Your responsibilities
Enter your email address correctly (we deliver only to the address you give us). Give your number only to your intended sender. Ensure faxes are sent within your rental window. Do not use GetAFax to receive material that is illegal, infringing, or harassing, or in any way that violates US law. We may refuse service or stop delivery for abuse.
No refunds
All purchases are final. Your $5 reserves a number exclusively for you the moment you pay, which means the service is delivered at purchase, whether or not anyone sends you a fax. No refunds are given for unused rentals, faxes that were never sent, faxes sent late, sender errors, mistyped email addresses, or change of mind. The only exception: if GetAFax itself fails to provide you a working number, contact support@getafax.com and we will make it right.
No guarantees, limited liability
GetAFax is provided "as is." Fax transmission depends on telephone networks, the sender's equipment, and email systems we do not control. We do not guarantee that any particular fax will arrive, arrive legibly, or arrive on time. To the maximum extent permitted by law, GetAFax's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid, and GetAFax is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including missed deadlines, lost documents, or lost opportunities.
